Day 1 Melbourne

Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Melbourne/Port Campbell (1B)

Travel past world-famous surf beaches along the Great Ocean Road. Enjoy views of the 12 Apostles and walk through the rainforest in Great Otway National Park.

Day 3 Port Campbell/Halls Gap (1B)

Travel inland to Grampians National Park, known for its sandstone mountain range and impressive rock art. Trek through the forest, lush with vegetation and wildlife.

Day 4 Halls Gap/Mount Gambier (1B)

Explore Grampians NP. Enjoy waterfalls, lakes and beautiful vistas. Stay overnight at a refurbished old English prison in the country town of Mt Gambier.

Day 5 Mount Gambier/Adelaide (1B)

Pass through Coorong National Park, known for its dune systems and lagoons en route to Adelaide.

Day 6 Adelaide/Quorn (1B)

Enjoy a wine tasting in the Clare Valley, then it's on to Quorn.

Day 7 Quorn/Beltana (1B, 1L, 1D)

Head to Wilpena Pound for a walk to a natural amphitheatre sacred to the Aboriginal Adnyamathana people. Learn about Aboriginal art and early settler history.

Day 8 Beltana/William Creek (1B, 1L, 1D)

Travel along the Old Ghan Railway route. Marvel at ruins of early settler sites and opt for a scenic flight over the great salt lake of Lake Eyre.

Day 9 William Creek/Coober Pedy (1B)

Cross the Outback on a rugged track to Coober Pedy, the world's opal mining capital. After a guided tour of a mine, escape the heat like the locals by spending the night underground.

Day 10 Coober Pedy/Kings Creek (1B, 1D)

Take in the vastness of the Outback on a driving day, then bed down in a swag (canvas bedroll) or tent under the Outback sky.

Day 11 Kings Creek/Uluru (1B, 1L)

Enjoy the morning walk through the gorges and valleys of Kings Canyon of Watarrka National Park. Drive to Uluru, where Australia's most iconic view awaits. Experience the colourful sunset at Uluru while enjoying a glass of bubbly.

Day 12 Uluru (1B, 1L, 1D)

Enjoy the Mala Walk at Uluru to learn the importance of the rock to the Aborigines.

Day 13 Uluru/Sydney (1B)

Wake up and enjoy a champagne sunrise toast with Uluru as the setting. Transfer to the airport and fly to Sydney.

Day 14 Sydney/Nundle (1B, 1D)

Travel to the Hunter Valley for a wine tasting. Overnight at a sheep station, which includes a shearing demonstration.

Day 15 Nundle/Bingara (1B, 1D)

Visit a working mine and have a go at panning for gold.

Day 16 Bingara/Yamba (1B)

Travel to a beach town surrounded by Yuraygir National Park. Go for a swim at the beach, relax, and enjoy the view.

Day 17 Yamba/Byron Bay (1B)

Travel up the coast to Byron Bay, which has a reputation as an alternative hippie town. Hit the beach and take a surf lesson.

Day 18 Byron Bay

Enjoy free time to hit the beach, get a massage, go skydiving, or try sea kayaking.

Day 19 Byron Bay/Brisbane (1B)

Travel north, and opt for a night out in Queensland's capital.

Day 20 Brisbane/Fraser Island (1B, 1L)

Travel by private bus, private 4x4 and ferry to reach Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island. Explore the island by 4x4.

Day 21 Fraser Island/Noosa River (1B, 1L, 1D)

Enjoy a morning of exploring by 4x4 to hit the remainder of Fraser Island's highlights, then set off to the Noosa Everglades. Canoe upstream to a riverside camp for an evening surrounded by stunning wilderness. Walk through coastal vegetation along a gentle trail that leads to the Cooloola Sand Patch (time permitting).

Day 22 Noosa River/Rockhampton (1B, 1D)

Canoe downstream, then hop on board a northbound train. Visit rural Queensland and learn about cattle station history. Bed down in a swag (canvas bedroll) under the Outback sky.

Day 23 Rockhampton/Whitsunday Islands (1B, 1D)

Embark on a 3-day maxi yacht sailing adventure. Enjoy beach visits, island bush walks and time to snorkel the reefs. Anchor off of secluded tropical islands at night.

Day 24 Whitsunday Islands (1B, 1L, 1D)

Continue sailing through the gorgeous backdrop of the Whitsunday Islands. There will be time to snorkel the reefs. Anchor off of a secluded tropical island at night.

Day 25 Whitsunday Islands/Airlie Beach (1B)

Hike to an island lookout over Whitehaven Beach, known for its stunning white sand, then enjoy free time on the famous beach. Sail to the resort town of Airlie Beach for a night of dancing.

Day 26 Airlie Beach/Cairns (1L)

Admire the scenery on the train north to Tully. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and a tour of the G Adventures-supported Ingan Cultural Museum. Participate in either a weaving or painting activity with traditional Jirrbal Aboriginal artists before continuing on to Cairns.

Day 27 Cairns (1B)

Enjoy a free day to visit the Great Barrier Reef or get the adrenaline pumping by skydiving, whitewater rafting or bungee jumping.

Day 28 Cairns (1B)

Depart at any time.
